Recipe – Polish Dumplings – Pierogi z mięsem

Dough:
3 cups of flour
1/2 teaspoon of salt
4 tablespoons of vegetable oil
280 ml of hot water
You will need a large mixing bowl. Add flour to the mixing bowl. Mix the salt, oil and hot water in a pitcher. Pour the mixture over flour and mix with a spoon. When the mixture cools down a little use your hands to knead the dough.

Filling:
1 lb ground chicken breast
1 lb ground pork
1 egg
1 bunch of green onion, chopped
1 bunch of parsley leaves, chopped
5 cloves of garlic, minced
1 onion, chopped

Fry onion on 2 Tbsp of oil with a pinch of salt and pepper.
Mix everything together in a large mixing bowl, add salt and pepper to taste.

Flatten dough with a rolling pin to less than 1/8 of an inch, cut circles of dough and fold them over with the filling inside, crimp the outside edges with your fingers or a fork. Boil in salted water for around 15 minutes. Garnish with fried onions and bacon, for taste and presentation
