1 lb of salted herring
1/2 medium onion, chopped
2 cups of sour cream
bunch of scallions/green onions, chopped
and black pepper to taste
Desalt herring the day before, change water 3-4 times. Cut herring into small chunks. Mix it with sour cream, chopped onion and scallions, add pepper to taste.
Best served with boiled potatoes in skins
